Spend an exceptional time encountering the spirit of traditional Japan

There are many places where you can appreciate the flowering peach
trees around Hirugami Onsen-go, including the Hanamomo-kaido road.
Hanamomo is a peach tree grown so that its flowers can be admired,
and in Achi Village have been planted many three-colored peach trees with variegated flowers of red, white, and pink.

Hand-made fireworks [October]Highlights in autumn

Traditional fireworks which have been produced ceaselessly for nearly 300 years. These are the only fireworks in Japan produced from the gunpowder stages onward by villagers. The fireworks were designated as intangible folk-cultural property in 1992, and were used at the end of the closing ceremony at the Nagano Olympics.

Achi-jinja Shrine Front ShrineExplore the area

Achi-jinja Shrine comprises two shrines: The Front Shrine and Back Shrine. The Front Shrine is located on a hill overlooking Hirugami, and visitors can worship at the newly-renovated main building of the shrine, which is located deep in the divine precincts among lofty old pine trees and young cedars.
